Fox finishes 8th out of 15 teams

The Fox girls golf team finally got their season started today after two weather cancellations earlier in the week. Six golfers paired up to form three scramble teams to compete in the Webster Groves Invitational Tournament.  The Warriors improved greatly upon their performance from last year and finished 8th out of 15 teams.  Sophomores Jaime O'Neill and Jill Donart combined to shoot a team low 95.  Seniors Jen Amstutz and Sarah Lamprecht carded a respectable 102 and senior Libby Hill and sophomore Malorie Mason came in with a 112.  Final team scores are below-

Reminder- the bus leaves at 630am from Fox. We're teeing off 730am.

Late notice today

Sorry about the late notice today. I figured we were good to go until I got an e-mail at 215pm saying we wouldn't be able to practice outside.  We have our first match of the year tomorrow versus Lindbergh.  Varsity plays at Sunset Hills (check out the course by clicking the link on the left side of the webpage) and JV is at Pomme.
Thursday we will go to the driving range for practice.

Driving Range today

It's going to be hot, but we should be able to practice today. We are going to go to the driving range instead of Pomme Creek.  I figure this will set us up better for our first match tomorrow against Lindbergh (V @ Sunset Hills; JV @ Pomme)

Seckman match postponed

Today's match versus Seckman has been postponed due to the heat.  It has been rescheduled for Tuesday September 2nd at 3pm at Pomme Creek GC. 
Team pictures will also be taken that day. The girls will be bringing home order forms this week. No practice or meeting after school. We will go to Pomme tomorrow for practice, weather permitting.

Seckman match on Monday

It's looking like it is going to be too hot to play our match tomorrow, but we won't know for sure until 2pm or so. Either way, we are still going to wear our uniforms to school and I may see if we can get our team pictures taken after school. I'll have forms for everyone and you can place your order with me later in the week. Listen to the afternoon announcements, check the blog, or follow me @foxgolfcoach for info about our plans. 

A few things

There has been a change to the schedule for Monday's match versus Seckman.  It will be starting at 3pm at Pomme Creek instead of 12noon.  The match will only be nine holes.  We should be done by 530/6 pm.

Friday's practice- Meet in Coach Wilken's room- 315, right after school.  He will have a handout to go over with everyone about matchplay scoring and strategy. Practice will be over around 330pm.

All girls should wear their golf polos to school on Monday.

Driving Range on Thursday

Driving range tomorrow instead of Pomme. We will be done and back to school by 4 pm. Open House starts at 545 pm. 

Range on Monday

We will probably be going to the range tomorrow. I figure Pomme is a muddy mess, so range on Monday and Tuesday with Pomme on Wednesday and Thursday. 

We are practicing today

No matter the weather, we're meeting in the commons at 8am this morning. We have to get our practices in.
