We're on for today

It looks like the rain is done for a while, so we'll go ahead and play today.  It will be wet and muddy in places, but we'll play the ball up and familiarize ourselves again with how to play casual water.  Hopefully we'll see most of you golfers around 1pm.

Rain approaching

Check back at noon to see if we're going to play today.  The radar doesn't look promising.  Remember that you can play at Pomme anytime on your own for $6 per walking nine holes.

Summer golf at Pomme

Boys and girls summer golf at Pomme Creek starts tomorrow, Tuesday, at 1pm.  Pay your $6 at the clubhouse, then meet at the putting green and we'll get groups assigned and sent off.  Boys will be teeing off hole #1 at 1:06pm until all are off, followed by the girls.

The boys will also get to meet the new assistant golf coach, Scott Neibert.  Coach Neibert is a Fox grad and has been involved with the district for many years.  His golf knowledge and expertise will be of great benefit to the program.

Golf Banquet

The season wrapped up this past Thursday with our end-of-the-year golf banquet.  The golfers received their letters, pins, medals, and other awards.  Among those JV golfers recognized were Alec Stirnemann as Most Improved, Sam Bekemeier as Newcomer of the Year, and Matt Turner as JV Golfer of the Year.  Varsity recognitions included Most Improved to Jacob Weis, Tony Francik, and Tyler Ward.  Brendan Lindsay and Tyler Ward had their names inscribed on the sectional qualifier plaque and senior captain Christian Willis was honored as Golfer of the Year.  Below are pics from the evening, including our farewell to Coach Schwalbe.

Sectional results

The 2013 varsity season came to an end today, even as Brendan Lindsay shot the best tournament round of the year for the Warriors as he came in with a +12 (82) at Crown Pointe GC in Farmington MO. The MSHSAA Class 4 Sectional 1 proved to be a meat grinder as the qualifying individual score for advancement to the state tournament next week ended up at 77, the lowest it's ever been at sectionals. Tyler Ward gained some valuable postseason experience as he carded a 95.
Be sure to join us this Thursday for the golf banquet as we celebrate the accomplishments of these two golfers and the rest of the Fox Warrior golf program.
Pictured below are some images from today's sectional tournament.
