Golf Information

We had our boys preseason meeting yesterday, and we have Connect Night this evening for incoming freshmen, so I wanted to direct everyone's attention to some of the information contained on the website.  On the left side of the webpage are links to the forms needed in order to tryout for golf.  Every student-athlete at Fox needs to have a physical on file before they are allowed to tryout/practice.  Under "Links" is the upcoming boys schedule. Tryouts start March 2nd.  The girls schedule from the fall is still up as well.  Also, under "Blog Archive", check out news and results from past seasons.  See the Feb 2nd post below about this year's golf fundraiser "Play Ball with Fox Golf".

Golf Meeting- new date Tues Feb 10

Due to our snow day, the golf meeting will now be held on Tuesday Feb 10. Same info as the original date below. 

Mandatory Golf Meeting Thursday February 5th

There will be a mandatory golf meeting right after school in room 208 on Thursday February 5th.  The girls will be done with their portion of the meeting by 245pm.  The boys will stay and have their preseason meeting that should last until 315pm.  The boys will get tryout/practice/match schedules and other forms needed in order to play golf this spring.  Tryouts for the boys start Monday March 2nd.  If you cannot make it to the meeting, you need to see Coach Boyd by the end of the week (room 208).

Fundraiser- Play Ball with Fox Golf

Below you will find the fundraiser for this year.  It's called "Play Ball with Fox Golf".  With the boys team traveling to Camdenton for the Laker Invitational and Poplar Bluff for their tournament this spring, a better fundraiser was needed and I think this can be successful.  With district champion aspirations, a few extra practice rounds can't hurt.  We can also outfit the JV girls with carts if this goes as planned. Copies of this will be handed out at the golf meeting Thursday Feb 5th.  See info above.

“Play Ball with Fox Golf”

Below is an invitation to participate in the inaugural “Play Ball with Fox Golf” fund-raiser for the boys and girls golf teams.  It’s very easy and it doesn’t require any active participation on your part other than to make a $25.00 donation.  It is set up like a raffle, but is connected to baseball in a fun way.  All proceeds will benefit the golf program at Fox High School.

Here’s how it works:

1.      For each donation of $25 you will receive a certificate with the names of three randomly selected National League baseball teams.  These will be your teams for the entire baseball season (25 weeks).

2.      If your combined teams score the highest number of runs in any given week during the season you will win $50.00.  If your combined teams score the least number of runs during any given week of the season you will win $25.00.  All ties will be split between the winners.

3.      A week during baseball season consists of games played from Monday through Sunday.  Runs will be tabulated each week of the season, with the exception of the All-Star game.

It is possible to win multiple times. Prizes will be awarded each week from among the certificates that have been distributed.  That is, if the certificate with the combination of the highest or lowest number of runs scored is not held by anyone, we will go to the next highest/lowest combination until a winner has been determined.  We do all the work tabulating the runs, determining the winners, and awarding the prizes.

If you wish, you can make more than one donation of $25.00.  You will receive an additional certificate with three different teams for each contribution of $25.00.  Please feel free to copy this letter and invite family members and friends to participate too.
