Varsity parents

Laura Basler, golfer Adam Basler's mom, has offered to provide match day snacks for the team again, and is open to donations from fellow varsity parents. This is something she started last year and the golfers really appreciate the cooler full of sandwiches and snacks for the bus ride to away matches. She will accept whatever parents are willing to give, such as Gatorade, peanut butter, jelly, bread, granola bars, nuts, chips, cookies, apples, etc., or cash would also go a long way to help with the costs. Northwest rescheduled again

Northwest varsity rescheduled with us for Friday April 5th and then rescheduled again. We will now play them on Friday April 12th. Varsity guys: E-mail me if you cannot make it April 12th.

General things

Aberdeen is closed Thursday, so the top 5 varsity will not be practicing. It's expected that all varsity and JV golfers find the time over break to play Pomme or another local course.

The lineup for the SLUH Greg Bantle Memorial tournament on Tuesday includes Lindsay, Basler, Willis, Ward, and Weis.

Team pictures by Stephen's Photography is scheduled for Wednesday April 3rd at Pomme. Be sure to be in uniform.

No practice on Tuesday

The JV will not have their match on Tuesday and there will not be any practice for both levels. We will go to the driving range on Wednesday if it is open.

Snow day Monday

So varsity and JV will not be playing Monday due to the weather. Check the blog for schedule updates, and our first day back at school we'll have a short meeting in my classroom before school. I'll update everyone on schedule changes. No practice on Monday.

Fox vs. Lindbergh

The Warriors played well despite the conditions and came up short to Lindbergh by the score of 240-268 in their first conference match of the season. Fox scores included...

Pictured below is sophomore Jacob Weis hitting his approach shot to hole #9. Jacob parked the shot less than two feet from the hole and proceeded to make birdie. He also had three birdies on Tuesday versus Seckman.

Fox varsity defeats Seckman

Fox varsity opened the 2013 season by beating Seckman in match play by the score of 5-3. Adam Basler, Christian Willis, Tyler Ward, Jacob Weiss, and Tony Francik came through for the Warriors.

The JV dropped their match 6-2, resulting in the C-6 Cup being handed over to the Jaguars. Matt Turner and Alec Stirnemann chalked up victories for Fox. It was freshman Alec Stirnemann's first competition. We'll get the cup back next year.

JV match versus Lindbergh postponed 3/20/13

The JV match against Lindbergh has been postponed. Varsity will still play Lindbergh at Pomme. JV will have practice at the range instead.

C-6 Cup match postponed

Due to conditions at the course, the C-6 Cup match versus Seckman has been postponed to tomorrow, Tuesday March 19th.  We will be teeing off around 1pm.  More details will be given at practice today.  We'll be going to the driving range.  Meet at the golf closet after school.

Service Learning Project at Pomme Creek GC

This is the third year the Fox golf program has spent an afternoon cleaning up and marking their home course, giving the golfers an opportunity to understand the rules better while also showing appreciation to the course staff and the city of Arnold.

Revised Practice/Tryout schedule

We will not be able to practice today.  We will have practice on Saturday, March 2nd at 9am at The First Tee (driving range).  This is an optional practice.  If you can make it to the driving range, great.  If you cannot find a ride, that is okay also, but you cannot miss another practice if you want to play in our first match of the season versus Seckman.  Every golfer has to have 14 practices in before the first match.  I will be at the golf closet at school from 830am-850am Saturday morning so you can grab your clubs then meet me at the range.  Come in the back door of the building.
Coach Schwalbe and I will be making cuts on Monday, after practicing at Pomme.  We've been looking at the scores from the last two days, and also taking into consideration grades and the future of the program, and we'll let everyone know where they stand with the golf program on Monday.  For those that do not make the JV or varsity squad, we will still include you in our summer golf plans.  Information about summer golf will be provided near the beginning of May.
